The green sea turtle, largest in the family Cheloniidae, is most commonly found in Perhentian Islands due to an abundance of seagrass around the island. Their diet is what gives their fats greenish colour hence their common name. Composed of a wide, smooth and teardrop carapace, a beaked head with a short snout and neck and single pair of prefrontal scale, it is easier to distinguish the green between the rest of the sea turtles.
Size: 78 to 112 cm carapace length
Weight: 68 to 190kg
Where to spot them: Commonly found at turtle point.
