Marine Life in Malaysia
Malaysia is blessed with a rich diversity of marine ecosystems that support some of the most abundant zones of marine biodiversity in the world. These include world-class tropical coral reefs, as well as seagrass and mangrove forests. Malaysia’s Marine Parks typically protect significant coral reef areas, as they contain the highest marine biodiversity, and are important to sustain fisheries.
Many tropical Asia-Pacific coral reef species make their home in Malaysia’s Marine Parks, and are commonly found in all of them. But we also get migratory visitors such as whale sharks.
Here you can learn more about the marine life in Marine Parks and how to see them.
