Connecting People with Nature
Perhentian Eco Education Volunteer Project focuses on teaching and supporting islanders to care for their splendid environment whilst also offering volunteers a first-hand experience of community life in a traditional Malaysian village surrounded by turquoise seas, white sands and vibrant marine life.
The project mostly works with the local kids through their Eco Club. Rooted in Dr Jane Goodall's Roots and Shoots programme, the Eco Club runs classes and activities with its members to promote conservation of their beautiful islands and marine lives while also improving their English.
You will be joining the Perhentian Eco Education team and the Eco Club members in their Coral Watch and Kayak Patrols. You will also be working with the team to plan lessons and activities, and carry them out for the Eco Club members.
Why choose this project?
Our Eco Education volunteer project is perfect for people looking to get involved in teaching, as well as for families looking for a cultural experience in Perhentian where both adults and children can learn from each other. See Perhentian from a different view than the tourist-focused experience that the Perhentian Islands are known for.
